Ad:

Advertisement or Ad is the name given to paid classified advertisements that can be placed in any sponsored web positioning site, such as those organized in advertising campaigns in Google, Yahoo, or any other site we believe convenient.

AdSense:

Adsense is one of the most widely used Internet advertising sites on the market. In this case, Google is the owner of the system and allows some websites that have been admitted to earn money by including these ads in their sites.

Adwords:

Adwords is the Google Adwords system or simply Adwords which consists of the sponsored web positioning system in Google's search engine. This technology allows us to buy advertising space in the world's most popular search engine.

Affiliate Marketing:

It is a system of advertising or marketing practice that permits freelancers or companies to affiliate themselves with others in order to out-source services and earn money by distributing these products, or by referrals to people so that they can acquire the services. Normally a percentage of the sale is obtained in the form of a commission so that it does not increment the price of the service in question.

Agent Name:

Crawler/Spider is the robot that will visit our web pages. The configuration to receive the visits of the is defined in the robots.txt file in order to specify how it should act in the periodic indexing of web pages.

Alexa:

Alexa is a website that keeps track of the ranking of websites which exist and can be indexed in the Internet. It is used to know how the positioning of a website evolves.

Algorithm:

It is a formula or mathematical equation used by search engines such as Google or Yahoo to calculate the relevance or importance of a web page with respect to a key word or phrase.

AllTheWeb:

It is a search mechanism belonging to Yahoo used in its database.

Backlink:

Backlinks are the name given to the links that point to our website, the greater the number of relevant links pointing to us, the greater our web popularity will be and we will also improve our pagerank in Google.

Ban:

A ban is a very serious block or penalty, the old concept used being in the IRC. To be banned by Google means that our website has been removed from the most widely used search engine in the world.

Blog:

Known as a weblog. It is basically an online newspaper, with periodic updates. These are currently promoted widely with various purposes.

Bot:

Abbreviation of “robot“, or robot.

Campaign:

Campaign is the name given to the application of techniques and of a method for positioning a website, whether it is natural or organic, or sponsored.

Cloaking:

Cloaking is a method by which one particular content is offered to the search engines while another different one is viewed by human users. This method is considered unethical, therefore search engines have included in their algorithms certain parameters to penalize those sites that use this method of cloaking.

CPC:

Cost per Click - this is the cost for each click on the announcement. Google Adwords works with prom cpc and max cpc to manage the adwords campaigns.

CPT:

Cost per Thousand - this is the cost per thousand impressions or clicks depending on the index managed. Both Google Adwords and Google Adsense manage this concept.

Crawler:

It is a software developed to sweep the Internet in a systematic manner through relevant information. They are one of the bases of Search Engines, and Crawlers are responsible for the indexing of all web pages or ignoring them, storing everything in the databases of the Search Engines. It is also known as a Spider or Bot (robot).

Crosslinking:

Crosslinking or crossed links occurs when distinct websites belonging to the same person or company are linked with the objective of increasing their popularity. Google penalizes these types of techniques today.

CTR:

The Click-through rate or Percentage of Clicks represents the rate of clicks in a banner or advertisement, that is, how many people have clicked on an ad in Adwords every 100 impressions. A CTR of 15% means that 15 out of every 100 people that saw the ad clicked on it. The CTR is also considered the measure of success of any online advertising campaign.

Directory:

These were the first mechanisms for search of the first generation of Search Engines. These were simply comprised of the database of websites with descriptions of them and separated by categories. DNS:

This is the acronym or abbreviation for the term Domain Name Server. A DNS is a computer that translates each web address into an IP number that computers can understand.

Google Analytics:

A tool for web management with distinct functions to keep track of concrete statistics for online traffic. This tool can be used to keep track of all activities: number of visits to a website, number of page views, etc.

Google Cache:

It is Google's cache where one can find the index of the web pages visited by its crawler/spider.

Google Toolbar:

This toolbar for Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox is an add-on type of tool developed by the Google company, which allows many other types of resources to be added onto the navegator (browser) used. For example, it allows you to view the pagerank of the page being visited, see if the current page is indexed in Google, or simply have a shortcut available to use the Google search engine.

Google XML Sitemap:

They are files in the XML format. Its main function is to assist webmasters in the notification of the search engines about the pages available for indexing.

Google:

Google Inc. is the company that owns the Google brand, whose main product is the search engine with the same name. It was founded September 7, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin (two computer science PhD graduate students at Stanford University). Their search engine is the most used by browsers in the world.

Googlebot:

It is the search robot used by the Google search engine. Its principle function is to collect documents or web pages from all over the Internet to put together a framework for searches that can be used by the Google search engine.

This acronym stands for HypText Markup Language. It is a programming language that makes the existence of web pages possible as it tells web browsers how to show content to human users.

Homepage:

Javascript:

It is the part of a page's code where the detailed description of the keywords of a web page are kept.
